 Awkward to use...Feb 18, 2006

Awkward to position the bracelet correctly, and somewhat hard to use on bracelets 22mm or larger. The pin on mine broke after maybe 10 uses. Replacement pins are supposed to be available, but I haven't found any.

This is like a bicycle chain tool. It's easy to misalign the tool and bend the pusher pin. But if you are reasonably careful it works very easily. Just do this over a table cloth to catch the bits if you accidentally drop them.
You may want to gather a few paper clips as well. They make nice pusher tools for replacing the pins. Again, gently does it. I also used the flat side of some chopsticks to push with.
All in all, if you are reasonably handy and careful you'll be able to resize pin watch bands fairly easily.

I never adjusted a watch band before and I thought it was going to be difficult after reading the other reviews on the other watch tools. This tool could not have made it any easier, I didn't break any pins and I adjusted two watch bands the night it arrived with ease. You will need a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the watch pin completely out of the band. I adjusted an Accutron Lady's York and a Swiss Army Men's Maverick. I used the tool to remove and replace the watch pins, just line the pins and squeeze the pliers slowly. The accutron used solid pins and the Swiss Army used pins that looked like they were screws but were pins that are cut or bent in half so always push from the end that looks like a screw head.

Have to practice a little to use it but a great toolSep 14, 2007

There have been some concerns about no directions coming with this tool or the fact that it's hard to use. Well, having been in the jewlery business years back, you have to practice a little to know how to change out watch bands and take out links.
This is a good tool, but it depends on the agility of the user.
I've used it to adjust at least six watch bands so far, and it's been relatively easy to use. It's simple, and I think most people with a little patience could use it to adjust their own watch bands.
Well worth the $15 price.

I've been replacing links for about 4 years now. Product looked cool, so picked one up.
Tried using it on a dive watch with 22mm bracelet. Bracelet link started to come out, but as it hit a tougher spot, the actual tool bent, so now it's useless.
Didn't even work successfully once. Made of cheap parts and cheaper metal. Not worth the money!
